Where The White Women At?

Tragically, a family friend (who was a US citizen) was shot and killed outside a bar in a foreign country a few weeks ago. The police have the getaway vehicle, and they know who did it. But the assailant is still a free man. Rumor has it that the suspected killer is the son of a prominent judge in that country. Friends and family have begun a letter-writing campaign to local US senators in the hope that the US Embassy and FBI intervene in the murder investigation. But since our friend was neither white nor female, I highly doubt that his case will be prioritized. Though this case has appeared all over the overseas media, there's little chance it will be covered here in the USA. You know, I've been trying not to say anything about this for the past several years to avoid appearing too much like a contentious and subversive rabble rousing mass media critic. But apparently, I'm not the only one to take notice of the mass media fascination with white women in distress. Related links: Where the White Women At?
