The Adventures of Roundeye, Volume I

When we got married in January 2004 (damn, it's been almost a year!), we brought our friends along to the Philippines for our wedding and our honeymoon. My friends and I agreed that it was the best honeymoon we'd ever been on.

Needless to say, our friends' families were pretty fucking ignorant about our destination wedding. "You're going where? The Philippines? Don't you watch the news? There's terrorism there!" Of course, they were basing their assumptions not only on sensationalized American news reports, but also on US State Department warnings discouraging travel to the Philippines because of isolated incidents in the remote southern region. My response to all that lunacy was, "Oh come on... That's like saying 'don't go to Hawaii because of what happened in New York City on September 11, 2001.'"

Anyway, we made it a point to reassure their families of their safety by photographing their (mis)adventures.
